Clinical Skills in Dialogical Practice


2 Day TRAINING (Sunday & Monday)

July 28 & 29, 2019

A 2-day training which affords a detailed focus on increasing clinical competence in Open Dialogue and dialogical practice. It builds upon the introductory training and is informed by dialogical and systemic theory and practice. There is a particular focus on Core Elements including reflecting and other dialogical processes and Core Dialogue including the use of self. Training methods include role-play, experiential exercises, and reflection on the nuanced and sophisticated skills of dialogical practice.

Please Note: Introductory Course in Open Dialogue (differing versions) is a prerequisite

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

For therapists & clinicians from private practice, government or non-govt agencies who work with individuals, couples, families, wider systems.

LEARNING GOALS

  • To develop increased awareness of the core clinical skills that support the creation of a safe dialogical space, with a particular focus on speaking and listening.

  • To gain increased sensitivity to the varied nuances of reflecting processes, with a particular focus on why, what, when, and how to reflect during therapeutic sessions.

  • To experience increased attunement to the moment-to-moment quality of therapeutic sessions, with a particular focus on relational embodiment.

  • To gain an increased sense of the use of self, with a particular focus on therapeutic relationships with co-therapists, families and the wider systems.

REGULAR $525.00 (After June 9, 2019)

Includes 2 days of training, course material handouts, morning & afternoon tea. The training venue is located close to coffee shops and restaurants for lunch.
